Looking for a Rufous

These are not organized in any specific way, just quotations that I like.

From: Nelson Demille’s book, Up Country:

“The journey home is never a direct route – it is in fact always circuitous, and somewhere along the way we discover that the journey is more significant than the destination and that the people we meet along the way will be the traveling companions of our lives forever.”

This quote is from an anonymous source, but I think it is a really good one and thematic (related to my “Rufous” themes) as is the previous quote:

“Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: ‘Wow, what a ride’.”

Chinese proverb:

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Albert Einstein:

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”

Unknown:

“God in wisdom knows a way.

The following quote, very similar to the one above (I highlighted the different wording), is attributed to Hunter S. Thompson – according to the person I talked to, he is the author. She also said there are many many versions of this quote. If you have a different one, send it in with your comments.
